The Department of History and Social Sciences is currently making a move to offer smaller introductory classes for liberal arts majors. The exciting thing about this agenda is that it allows for the ability to create thematic introduction to sociology courses.

The way I have been teaching it is as “Introduction to Sociology Through TTRPGs/Dungeons and Dragons.” We use sociological theory to talk world-building, research methods and topics such as race and gender to build characters, and near the end of the course we even play dungeons and dragons.
